CU Denver International Student Insurance

The University of Colorado Denver Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) is coordinated by CU Denver. It’s only available to CU Denver International Students and not available to Domestic Students. 

Regardless of insurance coverage, any student can be seen at the Health Center at Auraria. In addition, the Health Center is an in-network provider for most Health Insurance offered in Colorado and offers a discount program for all No Insurance/Self-Pay Patients.

Exclusive Benefits and Savings at the Health Center at Auraria for students participating in SHIP

• 100% coverage for all medical services; $0 office visits, procedures and supplies.
• No deductible, no co-insurance, no co-payments.
• $20 maximum cost per prescription.

When students have SHIP there are two primary options for accessing Medical and/or Mental Healthcare.

Option 1: Utilize the Health Center at Auraria for your first choice of Medical and Mental Health. It’s the most cost effective and convenient resource and specializes in college healthcare.

Option 2: If you need to go elsewhere for healthcare, you must first obtain a referral from a provider at the Health Center at Auraria. Additional information can be found on CU Denver’s Health Requirements for International Students.
