Eligibility, Fees and Service Charges
In order to effectively provide care for the constituents of Auraria Campus, the Health Center at Auraria has patient eligibility requirements. To receive care at our office, patients must have a current Auraria Campus affiliation as a student, staff or faculty member at any of the educational institutions on the campus. This includes Auraria Higher Education Center, Community College of Denver, Metropolitan State University of Denver and University of Colorado Denver.
Fees
All students pay a health services fee each semester. These fees are part of attending your University/College and cannot be waived from your tuition bill.
The Health Services fee is a part of the campus safety infrastructure providing Medical and Mental Health Emergency Response during business hours, and public health prevention and response, such as COVID-19.
In addition, the following services are available at no additional charge.
- Annual Flu Shot Clinics (available seasonally)
- COVID-19 Testing
- Blood Pressure Testing
- Outreach Programs
- Nutrition Counseling
- Rapid HIV Testing
- Tobacco Cessation Appointments
It also includes processing for the State Mandated Immunization Requirement that is done on behalf of all students each semester they are in attendance at school.
MSU Denver students have an increased Health and Wellness Fee which allows for office visits at no additional charge for Mental Health Services at the Health Center at Auraria and at the MSU Denver Counseling Center.
MSU Denver Students that are taking 9 or more credits in fall or spring semesters are automatically enrolled in the MSU Denver Student Health Insurance Plan. If students meet the University Insurance Requirement they can opt-out of the plan every Fall or Spring Semester by the semester deadline and the fee will be removed from their tuition bill.
Service Charges
The Health Center at Auraria bills for services as would any other Medical or Mental Health Center. We bill health insurance plans with which we are contracted and claims are processed according to the individual plan coverage. Patients that do not use health insurance will be financially responsible for any balance due. Depending upon the insurance plan you have, fees for Medical Services and Mental Health Services vary. For additional details on charges and insurance information visit the Insurance webpage.
A notice of any balance due will be mailed directly to the address on file at the Health Center at Auraria. We do not verify the address with the University. Should a balance become overdue by 60 days, a service fee of $10.00 will be added to the account and an additional service fee is added each semester that the balance remains. Failure to make the agreed upon payments may result in a financial aid and/or registration hold, if applicable, and a transfer of the debt to the Colorado Central Collections Services.
